9. Hanoi, Mr. President and more changes

19.05. – 21.05.2016

Later than expected I was back in Hanoi – the adventure to the north-east still fresh in my mind. Getting off the bus I got hit by strongly by the heat. Oh, I missed the cooler north already. Trying to find my bearing at My Dinh I instantly had to fight off the swarm of taxi and Xe Om drivers who jumped towards me like a pack of wolves would do if they spot Bambi.

8. The end of a great motorbike trip

18.05. – 19.05.2016

After saying good-bye to my travel companions it was also time for me to get ready to start the ride to the beginning of the whole journey – Cao Bang. The plan was doing an overnight stop on the way, staying another night in Cao Bang itself, and then take the bus to Hanoi. By now even I don’t even believe in any of my plans!!!

3. Journey into the unknow – Cao Bang

08.05. – 09.05.2016

After a lovely few days in Hanoi it was time to start the adventure – heading to the far north-east to Cao Bang. I doubt there can be a bigger contrast between the tourist hotspot Hanoi and the capital of the remote Cao Bang province. I was excited.

12. Scooters, streetfood & Bia Hoi – welcome to Hanoi

After a 6 1/2 hour bus journey (instead of the scheduled 4 hours) we arrived just after midnight in Hanoi. As I knew that we arrived slightly later in the evening in Hanoi I booked a hotel earlier the day – unfortunately they didn’t provide a pick up. Which was probably a good idea – as I had no idea where I was.
