Food is a very import part when travelling, especially in SEA. For me trying the local food and drinks helps to experience places you vist – it is not just about seeing important sites. The smell of food from markets, little food stalls and even restaurants always puts a smile into my face.

But why only eat the lovely food while on holiday. In more and more places you can find plenty of cooking classes on offer – either by restaurants or private people. It is a great activity to get a better understanding of the local cuisine, and also to be able to attempt preparing some of the dishes back home.

So far I have joined three cooking classes in three different countries, and each of them was worthwhile.
