The only way to reach Cham Islands is by boat. There are a few options to undertake this journey:

  1. Take the public wooden supply ferry leaving Cua Dai dock around 8:30am, but arrive 30 or 60 minutes earlier. The return journey back to Hanoi leaves around 12:00 or 12:30pm. The fare should be around 100.000 Dong. The journey will take around 2 hours
  2. Get the speedboat to the island, also leaving from Cua Dai. The journey will only take around 30 or 40 minutes. The price should be around 230.000 Dong (~ $10)
  3. Book a tour with one of the diving / snorkelling outfits who stop at the island.
  4. Check if you can hire a local boat for the journey.

The speedboats and public ferry will arrive at the pier of Bai Lang, the main village of he islands, providing an arrival with dry feet. And ou are straight at the main road of the island.

The speed boats all arrive at Bai Chong beach – providing divers and snorkelers with a chance to have lunch there and enjoy the water.

Small local boats connect the two villages of the island, Bai Lang and Bai Huong. The same boats will also happily take you from Bai Chong beach to either village.

Please note that the boats might not travel during the rainy season between September and December. Between January and May travelling might be limited. So if you really wan to go, check if the weather permits boat travel.
