Travel in South East Asia
When living in Vietnam it is very easy to explore South East Asia – I am certainly doing more trips here then before – taking full advantage of the location.
I am covering as many trips on this website, from a weekend trip to an island, exploring a region by motorbike or exploring new cities. All these reported trips since 2018 can be found here.
Water and Pyramids – Egypt 2017
For a change I have not travelled to SEA, but instead I returned to Egypt to follow my love for diving but also to finally fulfil one item from my bucket list – seeing the pyramids.
But instead of travelling fully independent I booked an AI package and organised my trips separately. I know it is something different, but you have to be flexible…

Trips in Europe
On occasions it is just nice to have a long weekend away from home, and visiting places nearby without sacrificing any holidays. So for me this means trips in Europe, but to be more specific – Germany.
So I did this a few times, just getting a train tickets to see places I wanted to see. So far this includes Heidelberg and Nuremburg. But I am sure more will follow…

Once again Vietnam – this time on a bike
New year – same destination. In 2016 I decided to return to Vietnam for a third time within 16 month. My friends asked why I always return there – and the answer is very simple – I missed the people, my friends, the food, the drinks – just everything.
My plan was taking advantage of my new licence and explore the far north east Cao Bang and Ha Giang provinces by motorbike. I heard so many great things about the beauty, so I was glad I could finally visit the less visited area. What could go wrong???
I also planned to return to Hanoi for a second time – and spend a week with friends in HCMC. I was excited when I left – and I was not disappointed.

Exploring Vietnam Part Deux
After my great experience in Vietnam in December and January I was able to return there six month after leaving the country. I couldn’t resist to head back to see new places (which I did), meeting more of these wonderful people (I did this too), eating more of the delicious food (I found more and more great dishes) – and catching up with friends.
There was a little change for this time – I added scuba diving to my list of activities. It was exciting to do something new during a return trip. And I can only say, this trip was once again amazing!!!

Food, sights & people – exploring South East Asia
After several short trips to SEA, I had the chance to travel for 3 months, and it was easy to decide where I will head again. So for three month I am now travelling through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. As it is a longer trip, I will try to write about my experience – to share with friends and family, but also a chance for me to revisit the trip over and over again.
