Hung Vuong Hotel
This hotel is located at the river fron of Ben Tre on Hung Vuong Street. It looks like your standard big hotels in such places, and not one of the little charming guesthouses or homestays.
They offer rooms with river view (with windows or balconies) or with a side view. The river view rooms without balcony are 300.000 VND, with balcony 350.000 VND. Rooms without view are cheaper.
The river view rooms with balcony are rather spacious, with two double beds (which are not too uncomfortable), a table, wardrobe, mini fridge (which is not working when leaving the room) and TV. So overall it has everything you need. From the room you have a nice view, though there is no furniture on the balcony, so it is actually of no use. The room has an en-suite bathroom, with the shower inside the bath tube.
The room certainly does not look new, and could really use a refurbishment. But it was clean and good value for the price.
The location is a clear advantage, only a few minutes from the night markets and some restaurants and shops. I guess if you wake up early enough you can take advantage and have a morning walk along the river.
They have a restaurant and bar outside, where you can have dinner (including welcoming guests not staying at the hotel. I didn’t try the food, but it is a nice place to have a beer or two. The service there was good.
If you arrive by motorbike, it will be parked securely overnight.
Overall it is a standard hotel, nothing special, but nothing bad either. It is a good budget option if you need some central in Ben Tre for a night.
